The sense of humor that the show has is just one of the reasons I like Burn Notice.
Michael is offered a job to kill a woman. Rather than turning it down and have someone else do the deed, he accepts with the intention of sabotaging the job from the inside.
:)
. . . since I've posted anything, but this got me laughing. My mom isn't all that computer savvy, so she gave me a website and asked me to print out a coupon for her. Simple . . . yes? . . . not really. First, you have to register. It's free, but it's still a nuisance. Have to click through a series of links to find coupon -- I think the idea is to flood you with as much "information" [translation: ads] as possible. The final insult is that you have to download an add-on for your browser to print the coupon. I actually sat there for a couple of minutes thinking about if I really wanted to do this. I finally bit the bullet and click on ok to install and . . . the thing isn't compatible with Firefox 3 (which is what I'm using). Their recommendation? Uninstall FF3 and reinstall FF2!!!!
Fri, Oct. 19th, 2007, 08:28 pm Ribbons anyone?
A week or so ago (just coming off SiliCon) I was thinking of potential badge ribbons. Then I was reading this by Adam yesterday night and considered how quotable Pushing Daisies is. So I started a list of potential ribbons based on the PD universe . . . * Proud resident of Couer d'Couers * VIP Member Boutique Travel, Travel Boutique * Bring back Darling Mermaid Darlings!! * My other car is a Dandy Lion SX any other suggestions? :) Fri, Sep. 14th, 2007, 10:48 pm The NBC four
Ok . . . over the past couple of days, watched four of NBC's pilots for the new fall season via Tivo:
Life: IMHO, the weakest of the four. Couldn't get interested in the main character.
Chuck: May be ok . . . just as long as it doesn't get too silly :)
Bionic Woman: This is version 2.0 with a different actress playing Jamie's sister. Great seeing Katee in something different. Will have to see how this one goes.
Journeyman: This looks promising. Starts off a bit slow, but makes up for it in the last ten to fifteen minutes.
I'm looking at TV listings online to see what's on. One of the entries on CineMax caught my attention. Now playing . . . Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire . . . and after that? . . . "Hotel Erotica" I *really* would like to talk to whoever's in charge of programming and ask them what he/she was thinking.
I think this forum is getting to me . . . even though I've been there for just a short time. I'm watching Lord of the Rings on tv and it's at the point in Shelob's lair where Frodo takes out the light of EƤrendil to gain a bit of illumination in the darkness and the first thing I'm thinking is -- 'I wonder how many lumens that thing is putting out?' :P
Let's talk Heroes . . . ;)
So, how did Sylar survive (Hiro vs. Sylar, before explosion)? Future Hiro (IIRC) seemed to imply that he failed because Sylar had acquired Claire's powers; however, in this same time-line that's clearly not the case . . . did I miss something?
I stumbled across http://www.candlepowerforums.com today and spent quite a bit of time perusing the site. Didn't think I'd find so many people that were as geeky as me about flashlights :P There are discussions about people modding their flashlights. Discussions about what flashlights were used in which tv shows/movies. (btw Starbuck apparently used a "Streamlight Scorpion" when boarding the Cylon Raider and one poster speculated that the security guard in Drive tonight was using a modded Maglite) Feels like home :P
OMG!!!! Mission Impossible has finally hit DVD!!!! [wait for it . . .] NO NO NO . . . I'm not talking about any of the three recent movies staring Tom Cruise. Sad to say, the creators of the movies didn't understand Mission Impossible *at all* I'm talking about the TV Series that aired in the late 60's/early 70's starring Peter Graves, Greg Morris, Martin Landau, Barbara Bain, et al. I was browsing IMDB and for some reason (can't remember why) decided to look up the tv series and discovered that Season 1 came out last December and Season 2 is due out this June. Need to get the DVDs *now* :)
No Studio 60 *and* No Heroes
:(
Was attending WonderCon and went to the Masquerade tonight (ooops, I guess technically it was "last night"). While sitting with my fellow Browncoats and waiting for the event to start, I was offered the opportunity to shoot the contestants (along with 8-10 other photographers) back-stage, as it were. This was a great chance because we could use flash and get close at the same time. Photos to come, asap . . . :) [Edit] Most of the time I worry about how the photos will turn out. I've taken a quick look at them and I am content. May not be the best photos, but I am happy about how they turned out. [Edit (again :) )] Yikes! . . . I think I was telling people that I shot around 150 photos for the Masquerade . . . turns out it was around 270!

You scored 29 Idealism, 33 Nonconformity, 66 Nerdiness |
We are not special! We are Japanese! Congratulations, you're Ando Masahashi! You're a practical, sensible, person. You're also a bit of a nerd, though you haven't fully realized that yet. You're a great person to go to for practical advice. You're also a bit of a flirt.
Your best quality: Practicality -- you have your feet and the ground and know what's up. Your worst quality: Finding every person you meet attractive (or maybe that's a good quality -- I don't know) |

The Heroes Personality Test
"Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED AF-S VR", or just Nikon 70-300 VR to it's friends :P The UPS guy brought this in just today. Thanks again to everyone!!!! This looks to be a fun lens!
Ah! . . . forgot to mention (though probably everyone reading this entry already knows ;) ) . . . got to see Aaron Douglas, Tahmoh Penikett, and Michael Trucco showed up at Pier 39 for photos and autographs.

I'm watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and it gets to the point where Harry dives into the lake and Neville exclaims "I've killed Harry Potter!!" Worth "the price of admission" IMHO :D
Tue, Feb. 13th, 2007, 10:31 pm help?
ok . . . maybe it's just the learning curve . . . maybe it's just because I'm not seeing it, but . . . how does one send a message to another LiveJournal user? One that is not a comment to a post, something just for the other user?
Discovered that a distant cousin (who lives in Vancouver and does bit parts in tv) was in a Superbowl commercial. Career BuilderThird one down, "Performance Review". He's the one getting the wedgie. btw, here's is IMDB entry . . . Colin Foo |
